Although there are some successful examples of biobased solutions at scale, today’s challenges have converged into a ‘poly-crisis’ impacting climate, food security, and livelihoods, and more solutions are needed. This plenary presents promising examples of new bioeconomy solutions that, when scaled, can address crises, respect planetary boundaries and foster resilience. Through holistic approaches, new biobased solutions can support economic competitiveness aligned with social justice and nature restoration, transforming global climate ambitions into credible, real-world implementation.
