Bioeconomy innovation is an essential socio-economic necessity, moving from research and innovation, through pioneering breakthroughs to achieving scale-up. This plenary identifies real-world bioeconomy success stories enabled by infrastructure, finance, entrepreneurship and policy. The plenary highlights how clear guiding principles are at core of these breakthroughs: circularity, employment, inclusion, nature- and climate-positive supply chains and the utilisation of sustainably available biomass — while balancing international collaboration, markets and trade with regional and local deployment and resilience, shifting towards the bioeconomy innovation required to deliver immediate global impact.

“Bioeconomy innovation has moved beyond discovery to real-world scale. With science, entrepreneurship, finance and policy aligning, sustainable biobased solutions are transforming industries and delivering climate-positive value chains.”
