From Youth Priorities to Action: Youth-Led Workshops at GBS 2026

Young people are not only the future of the bioeconomy, but they are also helping to shape it today. At the Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026 (GBS 2026), a new three-part workshop series, From Youth Priorities to Action, will bring together young people and stakeholders from across the bioeconomy community to explore inclusive, sustainable, and actionable pathways for the future.
Jointly developed by the IACGB Bioeconomy Youth Champions, EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors, and the World Food Forum Youth Assembly, the workshops are designed as spaces for genuine intergenerational exchange. Researchers, policymakers, practitioners, entrepreneurs, investors, and young leaders will come together to share perspectives, challenge assumptions, and co-create solutions for a more sustainable bioeconomy.
Rather than traditional panel discussions, these highly interactive sessions will focus on dialogue, innovation, and collaboration, encouraging participants to develop ideas that can help drive meaningful change.
The workshop series will explore three key themes:
- From Youth Priorities to Action 1: Co-creating Youth-Led Solutions for a Sustainable Bioeconomy
20 October 2026 | 11:15-12:45 - From Youth Priorities to Action 2: European Rural Youth as Drivers of Inclusive Global Bioeconomy Transitions
20 October 2026 | 16:00-17:30 - From Youth Priorities to Action 3: Bioeconomy as a Driver for Inclusive and Sustainable Agrifood Systems Transformation
21 October 2026 | 11:00-12:30
Participants attending GBS 2026 in Dublin are encouraged to join the conversation and contribute their perspectives. Registration is available through the main GBS 2026 registration system. Those already registered can update their workshop selections through their existing registration.
