Join the conversation and help shape a shared vision for the future of the global bioeconomy.

Registration is now open for two special GBS2026 virtual workshops on the Global Bioeconomy Vision 2040 and Global Bioeconomy Goals, taking place on 29 and 30 September.

Held online ahead of the Global Bioeconomy Summit in Dublin, the workshops will give the global bioeconomy community an opportunity to directly contribute to an important substantive output of GBS2026.

Participants from different regions and stages of bioeconomy development – and from civil society, industry, research, finance and policy – will be invited to consider what the global bioeconomy should achieve by 2040, the main aspirations that should underpin a Global Bioeconomy Vision 2040, and the concrete and measurable goals needed to translate that vision into action.

Facilitated discussions will explore the different dimensions of sustainability and competitiveness, providing participants with an opportunity to contribute their experience and perspectives.

The ambition is to co-develop a Global Bioeconomy Vision towards 2040, supported by meaningful and measurable Global Bioeconomy Goals.

The outcomes will inform a short Global Bioeconomy Vision document to be reviewed by the International Advisory Council on Global Bioeconomy (IACGB) and presented at GBS2026 in Dublin as part of the IACGB Communiqué. The Vision is intended to provide a reference point beyond the Summit for international bioeconomy policy, investment, innovation, environmental and climate action, and industrial implementation.
