The Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026 (GBS2026) is inviting visual and literary artists to contribute creative perspectives to one of the world's leading bioeconomy events, taking place in Dublin on 20-21 October 2026 at the Convention Centre Dublin

Recognising that the transition to a sustainable and circular bioeconomy is not only a scientific and policy challenge, but also a cultural and societal one, GBS2026 is seeking artistic works that inspire new ways of thinking about our relationship with nature, biological resources and sustainable development.

The call is open to:

  • Visual artists with existing artworks created from bio-based materials exploring themes such as nature, circularity, regeneration, innovation and the bioeconomy. Selected works will form part of a dedicated exhibition at the Summit venue.
  • Literary artists, including poets and spoken-word performers, who can create and present an original piece inspired by the Summit discussions. The selected artist will attend the event and perform their work during the programme, with a final version shared with delegates following the Summit.

The overall theme of GBS2026 is "Bioeconomy for Socio-Economic Transformation and Climate Action" and submissions should reflect this theme through their subject matter, materials or creative approach.

Artists will retain copyright of their work, while receiving support for participation, exhibition or performance as appropriate.

Applications close on Monday, 28 September 2026. Successful applicants are expected to be notified in early October.

For full details on eligibility, submission requirements and support arrangements, download the call document or contact the GBS2026 Secretariat at bioeconomy@dcee.gov.ie, referencing ‘GBS2026 Artists’ in the subject line.

Apply now and help bring creative voices to the global conversation on a sustainable bioeconomy.
